I've lived my whole life fearing cabbage-based foods. So you can imagine how I felt when I went to Veselka with some friends and Rachel Dratch ordered the stuffed cabbage. I couldn't believe someone would do that by choice. She obviously had some kind of mental problem which made her feel unworthy of good-tasting food. At one point, she offered me a bite. Being a thrillseeker, I decided to go for it. So she loaded up a disgusting forkload and passed it over. I held my nose, took the bite and the strangest thing happened: it was the most delicious thing I had ever tasted! I mean, I had no idea that I had so much room in my heart for stuffed cabbage. Thank you Veselka! By the way, they have a lot of other delicious stuff there—amazing stroganoff, pierogi, and other Ukrainian food that will melt your face off in a good way.
