My mother makes the best Italian food in New York, but she wouldn't be too happy if I gave out her address. When my mother's not cooking, and I'm in the mood for Italian, my heart is in Little Italy. Yes, it's a tourist trap, but who cares? I feel at home when I'm there and you will too. I usually go to Il Fornaio, a restaurant I worked at while I was going to film school. The food is great and cheap. It's a crime to charge 25 bucks for pasta and some uptown spots charge even more. Don't get robbed, and don't do boutique, upscale Italian or you'll walk out feeling hungry. As an Italian, that's a crime.
