Tía Pol is right around the corner from my apartment. I think one of the nicest things about New York City is that you don't have to go far to get the best in the world in any neighborhood. The owner Tía was inspired by Barcelona for her menu and the small bites are fun and easy to share with friends. She also has the best sangria in town, hands down. In the summer she does a beautiful white sangria with has strawberries it in it that's to die for. The atmosphere at Tía Pol is always comfortable. The front doors all open up, so in the summer it is just fresh air. I love to just sit at the bar, pick at tapas and call friends to ask, "Hey I'm at Tía Pol's, do you want to come down and meet me for a glass of sangria?" It's gotten insanely busy, but I've figured out the day and time of the week when it's not so crazy. Don't ask when—I'm not telling!
