Northeast Kingdom is one of my new favorites within the past six to eight months. I live over on the border of Williamsburg and Bushwick, and this is in Bushwick proper. The first time I went there, there was definitely some kind of drug arrest going on on the same block. But when you walk into this place, it's like any cute, nice place that serves martinis in Manhattan, but much cheaper because it's in Bushwick. They have great specials, and a really good croque monsieur—thick bacon. It's one of the first spots I know of that's nice for dinner and brunch.
