The Van Cortlandt Golf Course is in the Bronx. You can take the train, or what we do sometimes is hire a car service to go up the West Side Highway and you're there in a half an hour, and suddenly it feels like you're out of the city. You always meet these amazing characters because the same guys golf every day. You never get to go out on your own. My husband and I would go and you never you go out just the two of you. It's always as a foursome. So you meet these amazing guys and play as many holes as you can. I'm not a great golfer by any stretch but it's the oldest public golf course in America. The locker rooms are very cool and old. You can rent clubs or bring your own. The little diner there is good too. Just a fun little getaway.
