Ed's Lobster bar is a really cool spot that's only been open a few months. When I first moved in on Spring Street it was an Indian place that had lots of cognac in the back. Then it was this crazy French restaurant. Then, boom, one day the French guy was gone and Ed's Lobster Bar moved in. The first night it was open I remember walking by and saw how crowded the bar was. To me that's always a good sign. Since then, we try to get there as early as possible to get a seat at the bar. They have amazing mussels, lobster rolls which are pretty fantastic and a pretty good set of draft beers. It's a good place. There are always couples around which is kind of fun—sometimes they're on a blind date and the bar staff is kind of awesome at instigating dialogue. The servers are really friendly and the main guy from Brooklyn is really into making sure you're okay.
