I was up doing some extreme exercises at the gym across from Despaña when my trainer was like, "hey, you should check out that place it's great Spanish food," so I just wandered in one day. It was all raw meats and things hanging in the window, but I saw some people waiting in line and when I asked what for, they said sandwiches. I got this really amazing sandwich called La Picante with very spicy chorizo style sausage. Their sandwiches aren't advertised, which I think is a cool, subtle thing so it hasn't been truly corrupted like when you show up and there's a line of ten people or have to wait 25 minutes. I think the sandwiches are about eight bucks, but treat yourself—the quality of the oils and vinaigrette they use, are so good it's worth it. We buy their olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette to use at home.
