It's open for dinner too, but it's good brunch with really good French press coffee. And the atmosphere, something about it is incredibly comfortable.
Greg: It's a brunch place.
Satomi: It's open for dinner too, but it's good brunch with really good French press coffee.
Greg: And the atmosphere, something about it is incredibly comfortable.
Satomi: Yeah, they used to have a cat lying around too. She died a few years ago. But we really like going here.
Greg: I think there's something actually special about it. I mean Satomi comes from Tokyo, where so many of the restaurants are incredibly small. And this is like that—there's like four places to sit down or something, you know? And also, it has a neighborhood feeling where the regulars keep coming back. While I think of New York that kind of has everything, I think one of the things that it does have more a lot more of than other American cities is places like Danal—just this tiny little nook of a place, where so many people go back again and again. It just feels homey and comfortable.
