I have no problem with nepotism, when credit is due for good work and praise well earned. This store is owned by designer Charlotte Ronson, who also happens to be my daughter. Japanese girls love the girlish and feminine quality about Charlotte's clothes. Hence, they have opened twelve Charlotte Ronson stores in Japan in the last year. Even though "girlie" is not my age group in the shopping department, I have found great tops, sweats, trousers and shoes here. This season, the clothes are very edgy and a little more sophisticated, so I managed to shop up a storm when I popped in the store. I particularly loved the dresses—a little retro and sexy. Charlotte also carries her friend Shoshanna Lonstein's very pretty swimwear range. My favorite jewelry-designer she carries is Courtney Wagner. She works in diamonds and pink sapphires, the most fabulous piece being a bumblebee worked in those stones. Courtney is daughter of the late movie star Natalie Wood and her father is actor Robert Wagner—it's pretty obvious that their creative genes were passed on to the next generation.
