My favorite bar in Manhattan right now is Lucy's on Avenue A. The proprietress, Lucy herself, is a kind-hearted and generous Polish woman. If you order a White Russian and they've run out of milk, Lucy will have someone go down the street and get it for you. It's difficult to have a bad time there, I recommend it at the beginning or end of the night.
